If your insurance plan is not listed, you may still be able to use out-of-network benefits. A superbill can be provided upon request so you can submit it to your insurance company for possible reimbursement.
Coverage, copays, and deductibles vary by plan, and we encourage you to call your insurer directly to confirm your benefits.
Private pay remains an option for those who prefer not to use insurance or whose plans are not accepted.
You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical and mental health care will cost. Under the law, health care providers need to give patients who don’t have insurance or who are not using insurance an estimate of the expected charges for medical services, including psychotherapy services. You have the right to receive a Good Faith Estimate for the total expected cost of any non-emergency healthcare services, including psychotherapy services. You can ask your health care provider, and any other provider you choose, for a Good Faith Estimate before you schedule a service. If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your Good Faith Estimate, you can dispute the bill. Make sure to save a copy or picture of your Good Faith Estimate.
For questions or more information about your right to a Good Faith Estimate, visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises.

Therapy is a process where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences in a safe, confidential environment. The first session, known as the intake session, typically lasts 60 minutes.
During this session, the reasons for seeking therapy and any relevant background information will be discussed. The focus is on building trust and understanding your unique experiences. Your goals for therapy will also be explored, and a plan will be developed to create a path forward that works best for you.
Ongoing sessions typically last 45-55 minutes, allowing enough time for meaningful discussion and progress toward your goals.
The length of therapy varies depending on goals, needs, and progress. Some individuals may see improvement after a few sessions, while others may benefit from longer-term therapy. Each person’s journey is unique, and therapy duration is tailored to fit your specific needs.
Appointments and Cancellations:
Cancellations, rescheduled sessions, or no-shows made less than 24 hours in advance will incur the full session fee. This policy ensures that time reserved exclusively for you is respected.
If you arrive late, the session time may be shortened. This helps ensure fairness and allows others to access the care they need.
To get started, simply complete the contact form on the website, use the direct appointment request link, or reach out by phone at (323) 940-7749 or via email at info@scipsychology.com. Your first session will be scheduled based on your preference for in-person or telehealth.
